Matthew Minter was educated at The Windsor Boys’ School where he excelled in music.  At the age of 15, he became the youngest member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and joined the World Youth Choir
when he was 19.  Matthew continued his studies at Salford University and furthered them at The Royal Northern College of Music.

In 1993 Matthew became a founder member of the BBC Daily Service Singers and has since been established as their principal tenor, receiving critical acclaim for numerous solo performances and recordings.  He also sings regularly with the BBC Singers and has had the privilege of working under the direction of such distinguished conductors as Sir Andrew Davis, Richard Hickox and Pierre Boulez.

Apart from working for the BBC, Matthew travels extensively as a soloist, consort and session singer working with a range of groups including Gregorian, Tenebrae and The Sixteen.  He sings regularly in Opera Gala Concerts and is a member of the Operaontherun company.  Recent session work has included soundtracks to the films 'Eragon' and 'The Last Legion' as well as vocals for the controversial 'Pot Noodle' advert.

Matthew's repertoire as a soloist in Oratorio includes the most significant works by J.S. Bach, Britten, Dvorak, Elgar, Handel, Haydn, Leighton, Mendelssohn, Monteverdi, Mozart, Orff, Rossini and Verdi.

Highlights during the forthcoming season include a debut performance as soloist at The Bridgewater Hall.  Matthew will also be touring nationally and internationally, performing the role of 'Don Fagiollini', in a new production called 'Spaghetti Opera' with the Operaontherun company.
